The Langtang valley trek passes through Langtang National Park- a pristine countryside with majestic flora and fauna, yak pastures, a local cheese factory, Himalayan pheasants, Himalayan deer, Himalayan bears, monkeys, and the elusive red panda, which are native to this region. This diverse trek introduces you to the Buddhist culture of the Tamangs and the Sherpas, and the ancient monastery of Kyanjin Gompa. The spectacular views on this trek include Dorje Lakpa (6,990m), Langtang Himal (6,370m) and Langtang Lirung (7,245m).
Best Season for the Langtang Valley Trek
Autumn is the best time to trek in Langtang. From September to mid-December, the weather is warm and remains stable. If you travel in this season, you get to walk underneath the stunning blue skies, breathe fresh air and see clear mountain views.
In Spring, March-May is the second best season to go trekking in the Langtang region. You will love the long and warm days during this season. The trail becomes exceptionally beautiful in this season. The forest becomes lush along with rhododendron blossoms. You will also get to see many wildflowers along the way. At higher altitudes, the trek becomes less exhausting because of the warm sun and the soft mountain breezes.

Our representative will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Make sure all the trekking gear is in place and if not you can buy and rent the required gear in the Thamel.
From today, your trek will start. You will be trekking for around 8 hours to reach the Lama hotel for an overnight stay. Local says that in the forest en route to lama hotel monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan bears can be seen.
En-route: Bhotekoshi bridge – climb uphill to Dovan – Pairo – Bamboo – Rimche – Lama hotel
The trekking distance from Lama hotel to Mundu is around 8 hours. You can see the beautiful Langtang Himal ranges on the trail. You will be staying overnight in Mundu. The Mundu area is located in Langtang village.
You have to trek for around 3 to 4 hours to reach Kyanjin Gompa from Mundu. You will pass by water mills, prayer wheels, and chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. We also pass by the many mani walls, made from stone with prayers written on them. After the short trek, we spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the Buddhist shrine in Kyanjin Gompa and surrounding areas with amazing views of the mountains. You will be staying overnight at Kyanjin Gompa.
The Kyanjin Gompa settlement lies at the foot of several small peaks and is named after an old Buddhist monastery (Kyanjin Gompa) located in the village. There’s also a cheese factory run by the government. If the weather is clear, you can hike to the nearby hill of Kyanjin Ri (4,984m) and enjoy the sunset. Kyanjin Ri, which lies northeast of Kyanjin Gompa, is a popular vantage point in the Langtang Region. Ascend the small hill and enjoy the spectacular sunset over the snowcapped Gang Chhenpo Langshisa, and Dorje Lakpa or you can also visit the frozen lake which is 3 hours of a hike away from Kyanjin Gompa.
The height of Tserko Ri peak is 5000 meters and you can hike up to the Top. Start your hike early in the morning and it will take around 8 to 9 hours to conquer the distance. You can enjoy the mesmerizing 360-degree view of mountain ranges. You will return to the Kyanjin Gompa and stay overnight there. If you go for the Tserko Ri hike, you have to carry your lunch because there are no hotels or tea houses on the way.
From today onwards, the returning trail will begin. It will be very easy and fun since the hard climb is already completed. You will be staying overnight at the Lama hotel. The trekking duration will be around 8 hours.
