Limi Valley Trek

Limi Valley Trek is one of the less visited but unique trekking trail in Nepal. Limi valley is situated in far western part of Nepal surrounded by majestic Himalayas Shangri-la. The culture here is influenced by Tibet. You can see various ancient gumbas, waterfalls and wild life that are unique from other places. Limi valley trek is not only important as tourist destination but also carries high significance for study and research as well. You can know about the 100 years old Buddhist traditions. Attractions: Limi Valley Trek Throughout the trek you have to walk through the bank of Karnali river or some time you have to cross it. Wildlife: Himalayan bears, wild horses, blue sheep, musk deer, mountain eagles and many more. You may also see snow leopard during the trek in the trail. 16 species of birds can be found in Limi valley. Mountain Peaks: You can see the ranges of Sai pal, Byas Rishi, Api, Kanjirowa, Kanti, Gorakh mountain. Along with that you can also see holy mountains like Mt. Kailash which is known as the home of Lord Shiva and Mt. Gorlamdanda. Art and Culture: The Limi valley trek serves you the Tibetan culture. The foods, dress, Language, traditions, Gumbas and other monuments are fully influenced by Tibetan Culture.  The houses in here are of very unique design that cannot be seen in other places. Best Season: Limi Valley Trek It would be very difficult to trek in Limi Valley during the winter season because the temperature in Limi Valley is normally 10 degree Celsius in summer as well. You can trek to Limi valley during every month of the year but the best season to trek is on May to August which is summer season and March to May in Spring Season. During the monsoon season also the rain falls very rarely but little precipitation can be felt. Permits: Limi Valley Trek  The permits required for Limi valley trek are you have to pay US $10 to District Development Committee in Simikot. And other you have to pay US $50 for first week and after first week you have to pay US $7, per person.

Itinerary

Our Office representative will pick you from the international Airport and take you the hotel.

Today is the day for rest and prepare for your trek. You can also visit Kathmandu city famous places during the period.

Today, you have to fly to Nepalgunj according to your flying time period. It takes around 1 hour to reach Nepalgunj via air. You will reach Nepalgunj during the day time and could have enough time to explore the busy business city, Nepalgunj. The ‘mutton sekuwa’ is one of the famous food items around here.

Today, you again have to fly to Simikot from Nepalgunj which takes around 45 minutes. After reaching Simikot, you can have tea break and start your trek to Dharapuri. You can have lunch at Dada Phaiya/Majh Gau.

On the way you can see Chyanduk waterfall which is big and very beautiful. You can have lunch in Dada kermi.

Today you have to trek for around 6-7 hours to reach Yalbang from kermi.

Today, you will reach Tumkot via different villages like Yang gar, gerung pani and muchu village. You can have lunch in gerung pani village. Tumkot is a temporaray village settlement.

From Tumkot you might get the truck as a transportation but mostly it is full of people and goods. You have to pass through the villages; Palbang and Yari village. Today you also have to cross the pass that is in 4600 meter called Nara la pass. You will reach Hilsa for overnight stay.

Today, you will rest in beautiful hilsa valley. It lies near the border of Nepal and China.

You have to do steep climb today. Today, you have to trek for around 5-6 hours to reach Manepeme.

Today also during the trek you have to cross a pass at an altitude of 4420 meter to reach Halji village. Limited homestay is available in Haji village. Halji valley is the biggest valley in Limi. Roofs of every house are adjoined.

After grabbing breakfast in the morning at Halji village, you have to climb for around 2 and half hours to reach Zang valley. From Zang valley you have to trek for around 4 hours to reach Tumling village. You can see Limi river flowing on side of the Tumling valley along with the beautiful grassland.

To reach Okhar Thala from Tumling, you have to cross the Nyalu la pass at an altitude of 4900 meter. You also have to pass through different valleys like; Selima valley, you can see very beautiful selima lake as well on the way, Chungsa valley, Sallik Valley.

Since this is the last day of trekking, you have to trek downhill mostly.

You will catch a flight to Nepalgunj from Simikot according to the flight time. You would probably have enough time to explore the Nepalgunj again or either if the time favors you can catch flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu.

This day also you will probably reach Kathmandu early and would have enough time to roam around Kathmandu valley and see the famous places in it.

Today, you have to do PCR test and can enjoy the whole leisure day. We will have farewell dinner together.
